I have a SRAM Rival 1 group set on my CX bike – 42 tooth chainring with an 11-42 cassette. The system is excellent but for me, in a hilly area I like to ride in on the road, I felt that fitting a 38 tooth chainring would just fine rune the up hill effort and it has. I wanted to stay with SRAM’s…

Not a massive change in gearing, wanted to be on par with old bike. With 42 tooth on 1X11 was spinning out in highest gear, 44 tooth has put my right where I want to be, perfect for my 10 mile commute
